Sherry & Skip have been involved in the horse industry for a combined total of over 47 years.
Sherry started cleaning stalls and grooming horses as soon as she was able to walk down to the local stable by herself. She has owned a 360 acre ranch where she bred and trained registered APHA paint horses. At the same she was managing normal ranch operations which included haying, irrigation and cattle processing. Sherry fostered 63 kids over 7 years, showing 4H and FFA cattle. During this time, she helped UC Davis develop the 4H horse mastership program that is still in place today. She also worked with the US Fish & Game for wildlife rescue.
Sherry owned and operated a feed store in the area for 7 years. Purina flew Sherry to thier R&D facility in Missouri for a series of classes in feed management for horses and cattle.
Sherry has been showing horses in various disciplines over the years. She has shown cross-country, barrel racing, team roping, western pleasure, halter, working cowhorse, reining, and most recently cutting. She has shown horses at the APHA World Show in Ft. Worth in 1987, 1988, 1990.
Skip has been a professional farrier since 1994. They have been married for 12 years and have raised 4 kids, all of them out of the house now.
Sherry & Skip enjoy spending time with thier dogs and playing in the sand with the sand-rail.
